Sourdough starter is a culture of natural yeasts and beneficial bacteria formed in the process of fermentation. The tanginess of the bread comes from acids produced by the starter, giving sourdough its characteristic flavor. The long fermentation process also results in a thicker and chewier crust.

Sara's passion for all things culinary started at a young age. Some people are just naturally born brilliantly creative when it comes to food and Sara is one of them! Life circumstances can bring some unexpected challenges, but it can also bring some unexpected opportunities as well. Cancer diagnosis and treatment wasn't going to keep her down. Inspiration came from the kitchen, and in this case, the oven! A commitment to the healing properties of good nutrition led to Sara experimenting with sourdough bread. Adding in flavors and creating unique combinations, the idea was born - Loco Sourdough! We are all in for some great bread now.
